Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting your poem for the Andrew Hardy Youth Poetry Prize. We are very excited to read your submission.
Once submitted we will then compile all of the entries until the closing date of September 18th 2026, or we have received the maximum number of submissions.

Prior to the Tasmanian Poetry Festival in October 2026 all of the submissions are sent to our judges to review and elect winners in each category.
You will be contacted prior to the festival if you have submitted one of our winning poems.

1. Please read the below conditions very carefully.
2. submit ONE poem ONLY, of NO MORE THAN 50 LINES for consideration below.
3. By submitting your entry you are confirming that you are a resident of Tasmania, Australia between the ages of 8 and 25 years old.
4. You may either type out your poem in the area provided below or send it via email to info@taspoetryfest.org
5. VERY IMPORTANT, If sending via email you must do the following
   a. Still fill out the form below on this web page and note in the “Your Poem” field that you have emailed us the
   poem instead, and state the email address you are sending from.
   b. Your emailed document must include the poem title and your full name at the end of the poem.
